Terms of use
The rules for using Duro’s website, waitlist and app. In short: Duro connects you to licensed pharmacies; the pharmacy dispenses your medication; we deliver it.
1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Duro App Ltd. (“Duro”, “we”). By using our website, joining the waitlist, or using the Duro app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Duro.
2. What Duro is, and is not
Duro is a technology platform. We list medication stocked by our partner pharmacies, take your order and payment, and arrange delivery. Duro is not a pharmacy and does not dispense medication. Every order is reviewed and dispensed by a pharmacy licensed by the Pharmacy Council of Ghana and regulated by the Food and Drugs Authority.
Duro does not give medical advice. Information in the app, including reminders, is there to help you follow the treatment your doctor or pharmacist has given you, not to replace it. In an emergency, call 112 or go to the nearest hospital.
3. The waitlist
Joining the waitlist means we may contact you about Duro’s launch. It does not guarantee access by a particular date or in a particular area. You can leave at any time by emailing hello@myduroapp.com.
4. Your account
- You must be 18 or older and give accurate information.
- Keep your login secure. You are responsible for orders placed through your account.
- Order only for yourself or someone in your care.
5. Prescriptions
Duro currently offers over-the-counter medicines only. If we add prescription medicines, they will require a valid prescription from a registered prescriber, which you upload in the app.
The dispensing pharmacist may contact you, ask for more information, or decline an order if they judge it unsafe or the prescription invalid. Their professional decision is final. Submitting a false or altered prescription is an offence and will close your account.
6. Availability and prices
Duro works with a limited number of partner pharmacies. Stock shown in the app reflects what those pharmacies report and can change. If an item becomes unavailable after you order, we will tell you and refund you or offer an alternative only with your consent.
Medication prices are set by the pharmacy. The delivery fee is shown before you pay, and the total you see at checkout is what you pay.
7. Payment, cancellation and refunds
- You can pay by mobile money or card through our payment provider.
- You can cancel free of charge until the pharmacist has dispensed your order.
- For safety reasons, dispensed medication cannot be returned unless it is wrong, damaged, or past its expiry date. Tell us within 48 hours of delivery and we will replace it or refund you.
8. Delivery
We deliver within our current service area in Accra. Delivery times are estimates. Someone aged 18 or over must receive the order, and riders may ask for the order code or ID for prescription items.
9. Acceptable use
Do not misuse Duro: no attempts to obtain medication fraudulently or for resale, no interfering with the service, and no abuse of riders, pharmacists or staff. We may suspend accounts that break these rules.
10. Liability
We take care to run Duro reliably, but we cannot guarantee it will always be available or error-free. The dispensing pharmacy is responsible for the medication it supplies. To the extent permitted by Ghanaian law, Duro is not liable for indirect losses, and our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Ghanaian consumer protection law.
11. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms as the service grows and will tell you before material changes take effect. These terms are governed by the laws of Ghana, and disputes will be handled by the courts of Ghana.
